Location: Atlanta, GA
The complete rehabilitation and improvement of Allen Hills in Atlanta's Westside demonstrates Russell New Urban Development commitment to urban renewal. The reconfigured Allen Hills consists of 59 two and three-story garden style buildings. All 458 units have Project Based Rental Assistance contracts from HUD.
Renovation included the installation of modern kitchens, new windows and balcony doors, abatement of asbestos and lead products and roof repairs. New features include perimeter fencing, security gates and mail kiosks. The gymnasium will be updated and will include a computer learning center and a laundry facility. A day care/preschool building will further serve the needs of residents.
