Due to the 1994 Flood in Albany, Georgia, Albany State University’s new and existing buildings sustained significant water damage.  With approximately $120 million in funds from the State, insurance agencies and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a recovery program was established and implemented by the University and the Georgia State Board of Regents.

This recovery program consists of three phases.  Phase I consisted of emergency response, clean-up and constructing temporary facilities.  Phase II consisted of the demolition and renovation of existing buildings.  Phase III consisted of the design and construction of replacement buildings.
