New home to the NBA Atlanta Hawks and the NHL Atlanta Thrashers, this state of the art facility is located in downtown Atlanta on the site of the former Hawks arena. Complex challenges faced the construction team including demolition and clearing of the old arena; reworking the underground infrastructure; resolving traffic flow problems; and coordinating with City officials and private enterprise. The Arena hosts sporting events, concerts, and various other entertainment/exhibit functions and provides seating for 20,000 with 100 luxury suites for private or corporate use.
