Home of the NFL Atlanta Falcons, this multi-purpose cable-supported domed stadium provides over 1,600,000 SF of floor area on a 42-acre site in downtown Atlanta. The 70,500 seat facility was designed to accommodate major sporting events including the Super Bowl, but it functions equally well in hosting major vendor exhibitions, political conventions, and concert events. The Dome construction schedule was one of the most aggressive ever attempted and was completed in a mere twenty-nine months.

Features of the Georgia Dome:

  • World's largest cable-supported roof with over 11 miles of permanent cable.
  • Primary frame defined by 52 rows of 190-foot columns which meet a 2500-foot elliptical
    compression ring with a hollow cross section 26-feet wide by 8-feet, 6 inches deep.
  • Perimeter circumference of 5/8 mile.
  • 20 stories high
