Q: How do I know if my organization’s program or project qualifies for Russell CARES funding?

The program or project must align with Russell’s four focus areas of giving: Education, Youth, Entrepreneurship or Affordable Housing.

Other stipulations include the following:

  • You must successfully pass the Eligibility Quiz.
  • Your request must be for a charitable, nonprofit organization as defined by section 501(c)3 of the IRS tax code.
  • Your request must support a community served by H.J. Russell & Company.
  • The electronic application process must be completed in its entirety, including submission of required documents.
Q: Does Russell CARES have pre-determined award amounts for specific types of grants, scholarships, in-kind donations, etc.?

No. When making grant award decisions, we consider the value of the program to our communities and the amount we have available to donate.

Q: What is the deadline for submitting an electronic grant application?

March 30th, June 30th, September 30th, and December 30th

Q: Once I submit a grant application, how long will it take to get a formal response?

A written notification will be sent to the primary contact listed on the application within 90 days of receiving your application.

Q: Why was my grant application declined last year even though it seemed to meet the qualification criteria?

Award recipients are chosen by the employee contribution committee, which has an independent decision-making process and bases its selection on various criteria.
