H. J. Russell & Company seeks a Marketing Coordinator to work in collaboration with the Strategic Marketing & Business Development, Program Management, and Construction teams in coordinating, maintaining, and making readily available all information regarding the marketing and business development strategies of the organization.

The role will be part of a dynamic, growing team, and the role is key to the success of Russell. While the job duties may fluctuate day-to-day, below are expected areas for proficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Edits, organizes, prepares, updates marketing collateral, staff photos, resumes, project data sheets, subcontractor documents, and other marketing materials utilizing InDesign and maintain supply inventories.

Leads the process of editing, customizing, and maintaining professional and technical staff resumes for use in proposals, qualifications submittals, and related documents.

Produces layout/format design for SOQs/proposals, including editing and graphics; prepare for digital and/or print reproduction.

Prepares graphics, writing and proofreading.

Maintains content library, including prior proposals, boilerplates, and visuals.

Handles market research, including information gathering on potential clients, competitors, and other industry research to support the development of sales and marketing.

Enters and maintains data in the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Updates and maintains business development requests and prepare status reports.

Completes and maintains local, state, and federal business registrations, sponsorship packages and awards applications.

Coordinates registrations for industry related conferences, meetings and events and attend as needed.

Assists with organizing client development events, collateral, and trade shows.

Prepares or assembles written and visual information for client presentations.

Performs work in a safe manner and actively encourage others to do the same.


Continuous development of marketing and proposal writing skills through internal/external training sources, professional association memberships (SMPS, APMP, or other related society) and committee involvement.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Prepare to earn the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) certification.

Occasional travel may be required.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and work independently, as well as proactively participate in partnership with fellow marketing team members. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This position may require limited travel on occasion and is based in the Atlanta, Georgia, office location. Due to COVID-19, employees currently work on a hybrid model (virtual and in-person), where possible, which is subject to change.


Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.  One to three years’ marketing or related experience in the architecture, engineering and/or construction industry preferred.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat)  and/or similar desktop publishing applications.


Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Ability to apply principles of logical or thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Skills and Competencies required to perform tasks:

Effective oral and written skills for client presentations and technical reporting and correspondence. Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of project teams, clients, and others.
