H. J. Russell & Company has been selected as the prime joint venture partner, alongside Post L Group and Source Building Group Inc., to serve as Construction Manager at Risk for the new National Juneteenth Museum in Fort Worth, Texas.
The approximately 73,000-square-foot, $66 million project will support the creation of a new cultural institution dedicated to preserving, honoring, and sharing the history and legacy of Juneteenth.
The National Juneteenth Museum is being developed as a place for education, exhibitions, local business development, and community gathering. Located in Fort Worth, the museum will create a permanent space to honor the story of Juneteenth while serving residents, visitors, and future generations.
The project is designed to be more than a museum. It will be a destination for learning, reflection, cultural preservation, and community connection.
As Construction Manager at Risk, the project team will help deliver immersive exhibition galleries, educational and research areas, spaces designed to support local business development, and public outdoor gathering spaces that extend the museum experience into the surrounding community.
The project reflects the importance of thoughtful planning, collaboration, and construction leadership in delivering spaces that carry deep cultural and historical meaning.
The National Juneteenth Museum project also continues H. J. Russell & Company’s partnership with KAI Enterprises as executive architect and BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group / Alligood Song Architecture as design architect.
Together, the team will help deliver a museum that honors the legacy of Juneteenth and creates a lasting place for education, gathering, and community in Fort Worth.
For H. J. Russell & Company, this project represents an opportunity to help build a landmark that will preserve history, strengthen community, and create a meaningful legacy for generations to come.
We look forward to sharing updates as the National Juneteenth Museum project moves forward.
